A bag’s mass does not by itself tell ConcreteCalc how much finished concrete it yields. Packaged mixes can differ in formulation, density, preparation instructions, and stated output. Find the yield expressed as a volume on the exact bag or current manufacturer datasheet. Enter that value in the matching cubic unit. The calculator then divides adjusted project volume by one-bag yield and rounds upward because a purchase normally consists of whole packages; it never invents a mass-to-volume conversion.
Locate a finished-volume statement
Look for wording such as yield, approximate yield, or volume after mixing, followed by ft³, yd³, litres, or m³. Confirm that the statement applies to the exact product, package variant, and preparation method being considered. Do not substitute the bag’s kilograms or pounds, pallet coverage, ingredient volume, or a value remembered from another brand. If the package supplies a table for several applications, select the row that truly describes finished volume rather than a suggested count for an assumed shape.
Divide compatible volumes and round once
Convert the adjusted project volume and label yield to the same volume unit before division. If the project needs 36 ft³ and the exact label states 0.60 ft³ per bag, 36 ÷ 0.60 = 60 bags. If division produces 60.1, the whole-package result is 61, not 60. ConcreteCalc keeps the fractional quotient visible beside the upward rounding so packaging is not confused with the user’s extra percentage. Do not round the project volume first; carry its exact rational value into the division and round only the package count.
Verify the package before pricing
Optional cost is whole bags multiplied by the price you enter for one matching bag. It does not include tax, delivery, deposits, tools, labour, stock, or live pricing. Before buying, recheck the product code, package size, yield unit, preparation instructions, and whether the displayed price belongs to that exact variant. Yield may be described as approximate by its manufacturer; ConcreteCalc preserves the supplied number but cannot validate site conditions or guarantee the finished amount.
